The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is a group mandated by state law. The team consists of parents of children enrolled in special education and individuals with a personal or professional interest in securing appropriate services for students with disabilities. The CAC members support your efforts in meeting the special needs of your child. We encourage you to ask questions and seek the information you need to make wise decisions about your child’s future. Our purpose is to provide education and support to parents, encourage community awareness of children with exceptional needs, improve communication between parents and district administration, and enhance the quality of special education in the district. Also, it empowers parents through education to become knowledgeable, effective partners in their child’s education and special needs and encourages parents to actively participate in the development and implementation of learning experiences for students with exceptional needs. Come to our meetings, and share your ideas and thoughts! The dates of future meetings are listed below. If you would like to become a board member, you will be invited to fill out and submit an application following your attendance at two meetings.
