Auburndale Intermediate was named a 2023 Golden Bell School. Auburndale implemented the Auburndale in Action program. This program focuses on reclassifying students at the middle school level, rather than risking long-term English Learner status in high school. Internal structures of support are used for language development while continuing to provide a rigorous educational experience for all students. We use a holistic approach to create a staff-wide culture of accountability toward English Learners, including a coherent professional development plan, increasing parent involvement, and changing student mindset toward their achievement in this area.
